YE OLDE SWAN

A TRADITIONAL PUB IN THE HEART OF TOWN
Ye Olde Swan is the traditional place to stay in Brightlingsea, offering warm hospitality with two licensed bars in one of the oldest buildings in the town.

For over 20 years, The Swan has been more than just our family business – it's been our home. Steeped in over 500 years of history, our pub offers a charming and inviting atmosphere that’s hard to resist.
Step inside to enjoy the cozy warmth of our two open fireplaces, admire the original beams, and relax in our traditional bars. During the summer, we invite you to sit outside and savour a pint or two in our south-facing seating area on the High Street. For a quieter, more intimate experience, head to our private courtyard at the back of the pub.
We proudly serve three real ales on tap, a favourite among both locals and visitors. Additionally, we offer a variety of lagers and ciders on draught. From our fridges, you can choose bottled lagers and ciders, soft drinks, white wines, rosé, and prosecco. Our shelves are stocked with a selection of malt whiskies, brandies, and other spirits for your enjoyment.
While we don't offer food, we do provide a small selection of bar snacks.

We are passionate supporters of local musicians. You’ll find live music in the bar with open mic on the first Thursday of each month and acoustic night on the third Thursday, plus special events at Christmas.

We welcome children under the age of 18 until 7:30 pm in the public bar and out-front seating area.

If you're looking to stay in Brightlingsea, we offer bed and breakfast with three comfortable rooms, two en-suite, and one with a separate private bathroom.

We look forward to making your time with us memorable and enjoyable.
